{Inslee By Design} Fashion Illustrator to Follow.

I am really loving the fashion illustrations done by Inslee By Design. A talented artist since the day she could hold a pencil, Inslee Hayes started her fashion illustration business while she was in college at Washington & Lee University. Leave it to a group of sorority sisters and the word will spread fast! Inslee now sells a large selection of prints, original sketches, tote bags, stationary, and calendars. I could picture a cluster of her prints used in a teenage girls bedroom or a women's dressing room as a perfect art feature. See more of her fashion illustrations on last week's fresh and feminine Room Anatomy post.Hope everyone is having a productive week!-b.

{HELLO JUNE} Brand New Week.

Coming off of a great weekend makes Monday mornings a bit more of a struggle. I am doing my best this morning to kick off a FABULOUSLY productive week ahead!!
Sadly, last week was the end of this years San Francisco Showcase and unfortunately that means a tough goodbye to one of my faovrite floors ever. I am so glad that Catherine's room was so well received! It was an extremely fun and creative project.

I am very excited to have recently started my next freelance job with Amanda Teal Design. Amanda and I have very similar design backgrounds and style - I think we will be a perfect match! She has recently moved into the cutest little office! I am excited to share some photos of the space, as we get things more set up there. Stay tuned...

Check out the most recent Room Anatomy post featured on Sacramento Street blog last week - a soft modern serene sitting room.

Room Anatomy.

{Via Sacramento Street}
Live on Sacramento Street blog... check out this weeks Room Anatomy! As much as I am a girl for soft and subtle colors, a great punch of saturated color is great when well executed. In particular, I am loving the idea of using Benjamin Moore's "Admiral Blue" in a clients bedroom.

To complete the space, I suggest clustering a few of Jennifer Ament's unique prints above the bed.  Each of Jennifer's pieces are hand printed in her seattle studio featuring the linocut technique where an illustration is transfered onto a linoleum surface, carved, rolled with a special type of ink, and finally pressed onto a piece of hand-milled paper from France. Jennifer takes her inspiration from natural wonders, old books from the 19th and early 20th centuries, French graphic design from the '70s and '80s.

Back to childhood.

Check this out! Made from Maple, Cherry, and Birch a Japanese toy company, Mokulock, now carries eco-friendly and sustainable blocks. Mokulock has upgraded the standard brightly colored plastic childhood toy many of us know to a monochomatic art form. This new addition to the toy box is sold in a bag with 50 blocks for around $30 and is compatible with standard LEGOS.

Also, check out the latest and greatest Room Anatomy posted on Sacramento Street today! I think this is my favorite room dissection yet, featuring a Master Bedroom with cozy cable knit bedding accents and just a touch of sparkle...

Today is my sister's birthday - Happy Birthday MRS. ASHLEY BASTOW! One of my favorite things about birthdays is getting creative with the gift wrapping and making a simple gift feel a little more special.
